PRINCE Charles was in Oldham today for the first time in 22 years.
He was opening a multi-million pound hospital wing and seeing new community projects but he will not venture into areas devastated by race riots.
After a guided tour of the Royal Oldham Hospital's new £6.5m 122-bed medical unit, he will visit Oldham's Groundwork offices in Shaw Lane to see work supported by his Prince's Trust. The ramshackle building was taken over by Groundwork three years ago.
The Prince will meet local volunteers, including 12 young women behind a project helping young people improve their life skills. He will also chat to young people running local businesses set up with the Trust's financial help.
