Knifed magician's long fight back to health

A MAGICIAN attacked and left for dead by a maniac knifeman may face years of treatment to overcome his injuries.

Keith Dixon underwent microsurgery at Withington Hospital to restore nerve endings in his hands slashed in the attack. He lost almost two-thirds of his blood because the knifeman severed an artery in Keith's left arm.

The 29-year-old from Chadderton now faces months of physiotherapy, and medics have warned him that a full recovery could take years.

Keith was attacked after getting off the midnight bus from the city centre in Oldham Road, Hollinwood, at 12.25am last Saturday.

He took a short-cut to his home through Hollinwood railway station and planned to cross the motorway via the footbridge. Although Keith has no memory of the attack, the blood stains at the train station indicate he was attacked there.

Keith suffered slash wounds under both eyes, which required 12 stitches, and multiple stab and slash wounds to his arms and hands as he tried to defend his face.

British Transport Police are still trying to find Keith's attacker.
