If they had invaded I don't think the local hoodies would have got away with making gun gestures at them.

Ha! If the Ruskies had tried to take over Salford, the local scallies would have had the wheels off their tanks long before the first shot was fired. They would have taken one look around, and conclude that someone else had already invaded and laid waste to the place.
"Hey, Sergei, I thought that downtown Minsk was bad, but you know comrade, it doesn't seem so bad having been down the Langworthy Road.
"Erh, by the way comrade, what is this thing they are calling "a pie?"

The Soviets wouldn't have needed spies to make the maps... after all we had enough left wing traitors over here willing to work for them. Yet the Government ignores all those and insists on going after 90 year old Nazis from even before the Cold War era. Not surprising though--considering Labour was the natural home of these traitors.

John, Salford.
Im sure ive heard that we now have a new enemy doing the same thing now? I read somewhere about another enemy within,Once again being allowed to live here and fight wars in other countrys and against ourselves? no names mentioned (history repeating itself) you would have thought that we would have learned our lessons ????

Ace Riley, you disgust me. It's people like you who hold this city even this country back. With your outdated, unhelpful hate mongering. It's fairly obvious who you are aiming "enemy within" theory at. Manchester is historically important to most of britain's left wing movements The Labour Party was founded here, and both Marx and Engels spent time here before writing their respective theses. Although i am not naive enough to believe that they had all the answers I am not stupid enough to believe that you and your veiled right wing extremism has any place within our society.

I have read in the news and seen enough people in britain holding plackards up with words that encourage murder in britain and in other countrys? And because i mention these people who ""Are" fighting a war from britain im the "Racist" .Its time that people talked about what is happening in britain instead of keep kicking it under the carpet (and say nothing) Im stating facts of what i see on the TV and what i read in most of the press so you would rather people keep quiet about what they see and read ? ITS PEOPLE LIKE YOURSELF WHO HAVE PUT US ALL IN THIS POSITION ."People so scared of being branded a racist that it stifles free speech".

And if there was a nuclear attack on Salford, how the hell would we have known the bomb had worked? (joke pinched from Al Murray). Salford can take it. It's wounded every day by the vast minority of its residents.

We did exactly the same in 1960 in Russia. I know from personal experience, a UK company that I worked for exported machines to Russia, Some of the fitters who went out to install them were debriefed by MI6 when they returned home. I know one of them who returned there on further contracts was interviewed several times upon his return. It was all about Mapping a part of Russia.
