Consumer group backs fans over price-fix shirts

A CONSUMER group plans to sue JJB Sports after it and six other companies were fined over fixing the price of Manchester United shirts.

The action by Which? comes after the Office of Fair Trading fined the retailer and six other companies for fixing the price of England and Manchester United shirts during 2000 and 2001.

The group is urging shoppers who bought the one million affected shirts to come forward.

They could get up to é20 compensation per shirt, the consumer group said.

Which? is bringing the case against JJB Sports using its new legal powers granted under the Enterprise Act 2002.
