THE BBC will broadcast next year's tribute concert to the Princess of Wales, it was announced today.
The July 1 star-studded event is being organised by Princes William and Harry to mark the 10th anniversary of their mother's death.
It will take place at the new é757 million Wembley Stadium on what would have been Diana's 46th birthday.
The line-up includes Sir Elton John and the late Princess's favourite band Duran Duran.
Other artists announced so far are Joss Stone, hip hop star Pharrell Williams and Bryan Ferry.
BBC vision director Jana Bennett and director of BBC audio and music Jenny Abramsky said in a joint statement: "We're thrilled that Princes William and Harry have decided to work with us - the event will be broadcast live on BBC1 and BBC Radio 2 - as well as online - and will be a real highlight for the whole of the UK this summer."
BBC1 Controller Peter Fincham said: "This is a key event for the British public this summer, and I am delighted that BBC1 has been asked to broadcast it into the nation's living rooms."
Radio 2 Controller Lesley Douglas said: "This promises to be not only a brilliant concert but also a really important one. I am delighted that Radio 2 has been given the opportunity to reflect the event across its output."

As for the Diana concert, put it on pay-per-view TV so those who wnat to watch it can pay to, and the rest of us can pay nothing to not watch it.
