'Men chat about sport and work more than sex'

MEN spend less of their time talking about sex than many women believe, a survey claimed today.

Researchers found men are more likely to chat with their friends about sport, work, food and TV programmes.

The top five conversation topics for men are sport, work, nights out, friends and holidays.

Sex ranked at number eight, meaning it was also less popular than food (sixth) and TV celebrities (seventh).

The surprise findings were the result of a poll of almost 1,000 men by beer brand Carling.

A spokesman said: "Sex is a lot lower down the list of what groups of male friends talk about than most women would imagine - or believe!

"In fact, men say they talk about what's on telly and what they're having for dinner more than they talk about sex or girls."

Pollsters also found that groups of London men talk about sex more than anywhere else in the country - twice as often as those in Yorkshire.

Meanwhile, men in the South West are twice as likely as the average man to boast about their sexual exploits, while men in Wales and Yorkshire are the most discreet.
