BRITISH Gas chiefs have urged householders to turn up their central heating on what is forecast to be the hottest day of the year.
The power giant says it is the perfect time to test central heating systems.
A British Gas spokeswoman said putting the heating on for short periods during the summer could prevent problems during the winter. She said: "It may sound like we've gone barmy with the heat - but it could prevent problems when it gets colder."
