Golfers' gift for our Kirsty

KIRSTY Howard has been presented with a new electric wheelchair to replace her worn out old one - courtesy of kind-hearted members of the Manchester-based Scroungers' Golf Society.

Kirsty was given the chair at Blackley Golf Club during Captain's Day for her efforts in raising thousands of pounds for her Francis House charity.

The Scroungers have made more than 150 such donations since they formed in 1972, the money being raised through golf day events.

Member Sid Barton said of Kirsty: "She is a truly worthy cause."
