No fancy technology required I'll tell you now what the traffic will be like:
From 7 till 10 the M602 will be very slow as will the East Lancashire Road and all other inward routes to the City Centre.
Boothstown / Worsley will be like a carpark
M60 South Bound Clock-wise and Anti-Clockwise, by the time the active traffic management system kicks in telling people to go 50, the maximum speed you will ba able to go is 30, by the time the signs say 30, you will be crawling along.
Call me crazy but perhaps what is needed is a fully integrated transport policy that effects all the issues at once in a multi-prong attack on: congestion / car use / public transport alternatives / active & passive traffic management
/ investment in the future / road & public transport infrastructure.
For using a none hands free phone whilst in charge of a vehicle - that is illegal. Just a thought to those HGV drivers etc who could face fines of up to B#2,500.

I agree with Joanne. This goes against the government initiatives to encourage safe driving. There's going to be some serious egg on the face of senior management at the Highways Agency. Not to mention possible legal action from drivers stopped by police whilst using the service and driving.
Not only does this contradict the law it is begging for rising crime. Another method of spying, following and controlling people. But hey, who's going to object to that?
I can imagine the jam cam being useful to emergency services more than anyone, but what happened to the enforcement that you cannot use a mobile whilst driving unless using the hands free kit or you get fined. You would physically have to pick up and look at the image on the phone so it would be interesting to know if people would still get fined for using their mobile.
Hey, that seems a clever idea, getting traffic info on mobile. I hate the traffic jam. I will give you 10 quad if anyone could give me a good way to get traffic condition. :D This traffictv things sounds brilliant.
Oh, please, no one ask you to use this kind of thing while driving. I feel this could offer me a lot info on planning my jouney. I gonna try it.
There would be nothing illegal about checking the jams on your phone before you leave the house. Why are people assuming that it has to be done on the road whilst driving?? We all know that's illegal.... If that's the best argument you have against this service then I predict it'll do very well!
