Golf effort raises thousands for kids

A CHARITY golf day and auction dinner backed by Manchester United's Gary and Phil Neville raised more than '20,000 for a Manchester children's hospital.

The event, partly organised by the soccer stars, raised the money for the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. Organiser and father of the brothers Neville Neville said: "It was a great day, fantastic fun, and all for charity." At the Worsley Marriott hotel auction, star lots included tickets for U2 and Coldplay concerts and soccer memorabilia.
