THE naked ambition of Abi Titmuss, Jordan and Jodie Marsh has rubbed off on Britain's youth who would rather pose scantily-clad than enter a profession, a poll revealed today.
A staggering 63% of girls would rather be glamour models than nurses, doctors or teachers, according to the survey by mobile entertainment providers www.thelab.tv.
The findings have been blamed on the "endless media coverage" of women who become famous more for their physical attributes than talent or achievements.
Jordan and Titmuss were seen as role models by more 15 to 19-year-old girls than Harry Potter author JK Rowling and Germaine Greer.
The Lab spokesman Fraser Lewry said: "Teenagers are witnessing the likes of Abi Titmuss and Jodie Marsh gracing the covers of their favourite magazines every day, so it is hardly surprising that they want to follow in their footsteps.
"Taking your clothes off is now more lucrative than ever and teenagers see it as a great way of making money and becoming famous."
Of the nearly 1,000 girls surveyed, 63% found being a glamour model most appealing. A quarter thought being a lap dancer would be a good profession but just 3% picked the teaching profession.
Nearly half of those that took part saw Titmuss as a role model, compared to 33% for Jordan, 7% for Anita Roddick, 9% for JK Rowling and just 4% for Germaine Greer.
Asked what they would rather be famous for, 89% chose being recognised and a celebrity and 11% picked achievement with little recognition.
Should young people choose better role models? Have your say.

As Ive said, my friend is a successful glamour model and has qualifications coming out of her ears, she also has a stunning body and a boyfriend who is very proud of her work, what would you opt for in this situation, B#5 an hour or B#500 ??

I cant help but think that jealousy may be an issue here and maybe people are confusing glamour modelling with porn.
My point was, if that 'individual person' has the confidence to do a topless shoot, which, lets be fair, Im sure many women will go topless on holiday without making a fuss, then why not make good money out of it. If men are buying this sort of thing, let them, they cant lay a finger on her so shes in no danger, She has an agent who checks out all the photographers before hand and escorts her two and from the shoots. As far as her boyfriend goes, you should introduce yourself to a small element called trust, he does have her to himself in many ways besides a glossy topless shot.
Get a proper job...hmmmm, lets think about doing that after living a little, going shopping all week after working a few hours at the weekend. Theres plenty of time for her to get a "proper" job question mark, but for now, let the men pay for the fun shes having !!!!

Yes, you are right, money doesnt bring happiness, but it relieves you of financial worries, if you have enough of the stuff and lets face it, theres a huge percentage of the population who are suffering financially.
If you do have a stunning body and wish to keep it for your partners eyes then thats your choice entirely. I do think that the comment about my friends boyfriend was harsh but yet its not the first to go against her and it wont be the last. Aslong as she is happy doing what she does and she DOES has full support from her boyfriend, family and close friends, Its all a matter of making the most of her hard work, good pay and men who are always going to be attracted to the female body !!
