WILLIAM Ainscough, 57, is a serial entrepreneur with a passion for bricks and mortar.
Now living on Jersey, he founded Warrington construction company Wainhomes in 1973 and earned '44m through its sale to the quoted Wilson Connolly in 2001.
He now owns the Langtree Group, a property developer with net assets of '69m. Langtree - which owns property in Salford - made profits of '9.3m in the year to June, 2004.
Mr Ainscough's other business, the Wain Group, is a house building company which made a profit of '16.6m in the year to June 30, 2003, and which shows net assets of '29m in its latest accounts.
With other investments and assets, Mr Ainscough's wealth is estimated this year at '130m.
