Sexual health experts in Edinburgh believe people coming out of long-term relationships may not have had the same quality of sex education as their children receive. They could therefore be less aware of the dangers of STIs.
Dr Gordon Scott, head of department at NHS Lothian's genito-urinary clinic, said: "Sexual health services concentrate on young people, and there is a scarcity of information about the needs of those aged 40 and over, many of whom may be coming out of long-term relationships."

even those around 40 and above need to be taught about the dangers of STIs. this is so because in the end it will be them spreading these infections to those young people. ignorance must stop.
