Young filmmakers have produced their debut feature – about a company which cleans up after a zombie invasion.

Ash Tindall, from Salford, has written and directed his first film – a comedy horror called ZomCo: Waste Management And Body Disposal.

“It follows the lives of the people who clean up after a zombie apocalypse,” he said. “I was walking to work one day and I saw the binmen picking something up that looked a bit odd. I thought it would be funny if it was a zombie and the idea went from there.”

The 30-year-old, who teaches TV production at Salford University, got friends and former students to help and funded the 30-minute film himself.

Special effects students from the University of Bolton created the zombies, which overrun Salford and Manchester.
