Noel Gallagher and Badly Drawn Boy lined up for Manchester City bash

Noel Gallagher, left, and Damon Gough

Oasis star Noel Gallagher and Badly Drawn Boy singer Damon Gough are set to take the stage at City’s sold-out homecoming party.

The M.E.N. understands Burnage-born Gallagher, a lifelong Blue, is currently in discussions with the club. And officials hope Gough, from Chorlton, will also take part in the celebrations after Roberto Mancini’s men have paraded the FA Cup through the city on an open-top bus.

It is also thought members of the last Blues squad to win the Cup, in 1969, will be honoured on what promises to be a night to remember for fans. All 47,000 free tickets for Monday’s extravaganza have been snapped up.

Details of City's victory parade and fan party

The Blues will head to Eastlands from Albert Square at 6pm. They are expected at the stadium at 8pm. A giant fireworks display is expected to bring the curtain down on the evening at around 9.45pm.

Manchester council expects more than 100,000 fans to turn out for the parade and event. Some 400 police officers have been drafted in to deal with the crowds.

  • A memorial match will take place tomorrow at Hyde’s Ewen Fields in memory of City legend Ken Barnes, who passed away last July.

Barnes played nearly 300 times for the Blues and, in an association with the club that lasted 46 years, he also worked as assistant manager, coach and chief scout. Several of the youngsters he helped recruit will turn out for the 3pm match.

The teams include ex-Maine Road heroes Uwe Rosler, Paul Dickov, Asa Hartford, Andy Morrison, Ian Brightwell, Kevin Reeves, Colin Hendry, Richard Edghill and Neil Pointon.

Admission will be £5 for adults and £3 for children, with all proceeds going to the Stroke Society Fund. Team One will be coached by Shaun Goater and Paul Lake, while club ambassador Mike Summerbee will be in charge of Team Two.

It can't be a "sold out" homecoming party - the tickets were free.

I can see this 'sit anywhere' lark turning ino a nightmare. They should have allocated seats.

Now people know these are singing, there'll be people 'jibbing it in' left, right and centre - more people than seats.

Probably not a good move to broadcast this beforehand. It will just attract people who didn't plan to come. I see problems.

I have my tickets - I just hope I can find a seat.

Surprise surprise. Mr Gough would turn up to the opening of a paper bag. lol...If theres a free doo in town or council event or basically anywhere that will still have him on a stage then he be there. Chorlton will be safe for the night lol

Anyone else a tad miffed that the reason its sold out is because the people that got there early, were taking literally wads of tickets.
i didnt get to the ground until around 7.20 because i was at work, and was told that i would have to get mine from the stadium or city shop the next day. The next day they had all gone.
Why didnt the club say that seasoncard holders were guaranteed at least one ticket?
we are now faced with a load of people going that havent been to a match all season or scumbag touts selling "free" tickets. Also, who were the staff in the kiosk that were allowing people to grab as many as they wanted, and my was that allowed to happen? I love my club and we've had a great season but this has really disappointed me.

From a Red, I hope a good time is had by all. You Blues stop being negative about the arrangements and distribution of tickets. If the tickets had gone on sale the ground could have sold out 10 times over. Stop bitching and enjoy. Congrats City.

Ha ha. Another semi-literate rag embarrassing himself. That's for a completely different event. Oh dear! They just get better and better.

Nice one, the front man of the worst Beatles tribute band ever and the man who has broken the world record for wearing a tea cosy on his head for the longest amout of time. Should be a cracking gig.

The pettiness on here is unbelievable, immature cyberslagging - fact is City won the FA cup they are having their parade and bash at Eastlands, United won a record 19th title and are also in the CL final and win or lose that they are having their parade ok there's no bash at OT afterwards but each set of fans has the opportunity to ackowledge their respective teams for their successes whatever the trophy - banter is great for the football in this city but sometimes i despair at the childish, obsessive comments from 'so-called fans' focus on your own team and what they are doing........

Looking forward to this, I'm confident the club will have all the seating and entrance organised properly.

Sorry but you are full of it.It was 2 tickets per season ticket/membership card so people were not getting 'wads of tickets' and if you went soon as they were announced then you would have got one, there were still tickets available on Saturday.

Look Stretford bitters, it's like this.
We were there in the lean years and we are going to enjoy what is happening now.
You can make your snide remarks all you want but you cannot doubt our loyalty,
But whatever amuses your tiny minds, maybe you can get Eamonn Holmes and Gary Rhodes to whistle a few tunes if they can catch a flight from London.
