Iain Hepburn takes a look at the best of the web this week.
Video killed the radio star...
The internet, much to the chagrin of publishers across the world but to the delight of open source code freaks, has seen the springing up of all sorts of development projects and software systems. A damn handy one is VLC, a media player that plays just about everything, is free, and is remarkably versatile.

Lucky man
This is the website of the book of one of the oddest studies in recent times: to determine whether people are indeed born lucky. Running for a decade, it's hard to take most of it seriously, especially since it suggests those born in May are among the most fortunate... oh hang on, my lottery numbers have just come up.

Celebrity squares
Yes, it's that time again, as Granada wheels Ant and Dec out into the middle of the Aussie rainforest to do their worst to the ten Z-listers stuck out there. A Call Napalm Air Strike minigame is a missed opportunity, but otherwise all your celebrity needs are covered here.

Hi...
I love the pcik of the week, have you tried www.gumshoe-online.com ?
It's a great detective game just like the old point and click adventures I used to be adicted to.
The best bit is you play it through a browser, I'm turning into a bit of a lunch-hour detective... lol
Just signed up to Gumshoe Online, fantastic, I'm the Sherlock Holmes of my office.
