Football yobs threw a firework at a police horse before last night’s Manchester derby, it emerged today.
A total of 25 arrests were made by Greater Manchester Police during the operation to control the City and United fans attending the match at Eastlands.
The game was a forgettable 0-0 draw but tempers boiled over after the game as supporters walked back towards the city centre.
One fan was also arrested on suspicion of lighting a flare inside the stadium and another was detained for having a firework.
GMP said a firework was thrown at a police horse and a bottle was thrown at a police officer.
