A PUPPY stolen from an animal refuge has been found, thanks to the M.E.N.
Raiders broke into the Peggy Henderson sanctuary, Sale, and stole seven-week-old cross- bred Jamina. They left behind her pining twin sister Jessica.
The theft prompted an appeal from sanctuary manager Helena Brailsford for Jamina's return.
Helena said the twelfth raid in two years at the sanctuary had led it to spend '12,000 on a security fence and '675 a week on patrols.
Within hours of our story's publication, Jamina was found. The thieves who snatched the pup had sold her for '50.
But the new owner, from Gorton, saw our report and returned Jamina to the sanctuary. He asked if he could keep the pup, and the sanctuary agreed.
