RISING karate star Luke Scott is hoping that his sport will be upgraded to Olympic status.
The 16-year-old, of Birchwood, Warrington, has already been crowned world champion at his age level two years running and today flies to Bulgaria to take part in a competition.
Luke has more than 11 years of karate experience.
He trains at Culcheth, Warrington, and at the Selwyn Jones Sport Centre, Newton-le-Willows, with the North West Karate Academy, run by his father, Steve.
Luke and his dad are campaigning for Olympic recognition of the sport.
