Stars out for premiere of Manchester City movie 'Blue Moon Rising'

Noel Gallagher

Manchester City rolled out the blue carpet for a star-studded premiere of a new movie about the club's fanatical supporters.

Players and celebrity fans including Noel Gallagher attended the opening night of "Blue Moon Rising" a film that depicts life at City during the first full season of Sheikh Mansour's ownership.

Other famous fans at the screening included Coronation Street stars Michelle Keegan, Brook Vincent, Poppy Jhakra and Ben Thompson.

Hollyoaks actress Jorgie Porter, actor John Henshaw, former Miss Manchester Louise Cliffe, radio DJ Mark Radcliffe and Shameless actor David Threlfall also turned out for the show.

Created by Big Brother producers Endemol and directed by BAFTA winner Stewart Sugg, the film lives last season through the eyes of seven fans.

Stuart Brennan: "The film will appeal to real football fans beyond the boundaries of Eastlands, even United fans"

Following them around the country, it also includes exclusive interviews with manager Roberto Mancini and chairman Khaldoon al Mubarak.

There are also interviews with Carlos Tevez, Emmanuel Adebayor, Garry Cook, Craig Bellamy and other players.

The "access all areas" view of City life covers the controversial dismissal of Mark Hughes and the appointment of Mancini, plus the highs and lows of a season that were encapsulated in a two-legged Carling Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester United.

"Blue Moon Rising reinforces Manchester City's standing as the most fascinating story in the world of football," said commercial director David Pullan.

"It will be a lasting testimony to one of the most exciting years in Manchester City's history."

It must rank as one of the all time great films, does it show the brasso cupboard at Eastlands, by any chance, apparently it's well stocked.

Blue Moon IS rising and doesnt it show with the Rags and their mountain of debt brought on by their own mis management and GREED (remember SAF and Irish racehorse owners the Rock Of Gibraltar affair, money grubbing Fergies demanding MORE money from them, they then buying up the shares then eventually selling to the present 'owners')? Its your Fergie to blame for the position you are in now my jealous Rag Friends. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Where are the lads in this film from? I heard it was Bredbury. That's in Stockport, where I live! Why don't they support the might of Stockport County like my good self? If you hang your coat on the fact that the Scummy Reds aren't from Manchester, at least be from there yourself!

A True Blue City film, made by dyed-in-the-wool True Blue Manchester City fans. Fans from Bredbury, in Stockport. You Blues are as bad as the Cockney Reds. Get on the County bandwagon you Shameless wannabe's! County til I die!

I wont be watching, but I can only imagine it's a celebration of failure. What else could it be?

Sorry , but it appears whoever thought up the idea of making a 'Manchester City' film - as to be so crass in the extreme. Can someone please tell me what have they won recently. How does this club compare to the Great Real Madrid, Barcelona, The Milan clubs, Liverpool, and dare I say it Manchester United ?

Aw bless!
The best season the whingers have had for years...and brought down with a mighty bump by a header by young Scholes'y...not forgetting a proper 3-1 thumping at the Theater Of Dreams in the semi...when all the bitters had already booked rooms in the capital for the League Cup Final!
It all ended in tears....real one's for the berties...laughter for the Reds!
Even a film about the whingers, for the whingers..the Reds win!

It may be a news thread but I think the clue is in the headline that it is about City.

Jog on lad, there must be someone wanting to talk about your club somewhere. May I suggest the forum on the Hong Kong Evening News rather than the MEN!!!
