And last night the England and former Manchester United star was in celebratory mood again as Real Madrid won their first match of the Spanish season.
Beckham's wife Victoria is due to give birth to their third child in March.
"This is fantastic news and we are both obviously delighted," a statement released by the couple said.
Speculation has begun about a name for the new arrival. The couple already have five-year-old Brooklyn and one-year-old Romeo.
The news follows a turbulent year for the couple, with Beckham denying tabloid accusations of extra-marital affairs, then having a disappointing time at the Euro 2004 football championships in Portugal, where England could only reach the quarter-finals.
Victoria Beckham is under the care of doctors at a private hospital in Spain and the couple are reported to want to have their new child there, which will endear them to Spanish fans.
Earlier this year it was reported that Victoria had decided to move to Spain to live instead of flying out from England to join her husband when she could. Tweet
