Live - World Cup: England v Slovenia

England fans are praying their team can make the nation proud in today's crunch World Cup match against Slovenia.

Despite a disappointing start to the tournament in South Africa, Fabio Capello's team will still qualify for the next round if they can win their final group match this afternoon.

Many supporters have taken the day off to cheer on the team but many workers in offices, factories and businesses around Greater Manchester will still be following the match. The fanzone at Castlefield will be showing the match on a big screen to around 12,000 fans.

Share your views, fan pictures and videos during our live coverage.

MEN sports writer James Robson will be analysing the action from South Africa, Mike Keegan is in the fan park at Castlefield and reporter John Scheerhout will be sending updates from the home of an England-mad family in Burnage.

A frustrating first half will see Rooney rush through the defence in the 49th minute to start the ball rolling with a low drive in the bottom left corner, not before the opposition frighten us from a couple of set pieces.Crouch will score a second goal to put us through at 2-0

England can go a long way as long as they stop bitching.

I'll be watching it at home in comfort and analysing every move. But if Cappello sticks with Gerrard on the left instead of a recognised left winger or left sided midfielder they have had it!

Gerrard and Lampard don't work in the same team. Anyway it's only a game and I won't be shedding too many tears when and if England arrive back at Heathrow tomorrow.

Perfect love casteth out all fear.
Manager Diego Maradonna and his team show signs of being full of love and brotherliness and confidence.
England looked to be full of fear, and, fear of making mistakes.
