IT'S been voted Britain's best chat-up line - the one-liner most likely to win romance.

When Paul Jones uttered the words: "Well here I am! What are your other two wishes?" it helped to win him a wife.

Now his smooth talking has won him the title of King of the Chat-Up Lines in a national competition.

Paul, 37, from Heaton Chapel, Stockport, said: "The line's an old favourite of mine.

"I used it on my wife Mandy 10 years ago and three kids later we're still going strong.

"I came across the competition when I was doing a bit of research on the internet and thought it would be fun to enter.

"I never expected to win, but if people use my line I wish them the best of luck and hope they have as much success with it as I have had."

The competition was run by Everards brewery. Paul's winning entry will be used on posters advertising the firm's Original beer later this year.
