Are you allowed to have three people on a motorbike?

3 people on the same 'off road' bike. Very very sorry but the sympathy stops there. Suppose they hit my car and killed me or one of my children. I await the usual platitudes... great lad, smashing bloke etc etc.

3 on a bike? An accident waiting to happen. One can regret the loss of life but it seems as if he contributed to his own demise. Whoever was driving couldn't possible have been able to control the bike; the balance and handling would be affected.

3 on one motorcycle and probably using off road tyres on a main road, unbelievable waste of a life.

im not surprised that someone has died,the way the idiots in cars and on bikes speed up and down the "denton strip" and crown point area is nothing short of ridiculous.
im not in favour of speed camera's everywhere but if there was a place to put camera's on then its there.
sure it won't be the last death around that area.

Sympathies for the family, but it was a very irresponsible act that ended tragically!

I have 2 off-road bikes, however, I race at armature level up and down the country, I also belong to a club with their own track. Further to this I have held a bike license for some 20 years and I know these machines need respect....................

People need to realise 'bikes' are not toys! I implore any parent who knows their kids have them to join a club, keep them safe, legal and ensure they are not a danger to others.

I have tried to post this 3 times. So here goes again. SHAME ON YOU. A lad has lost his life through no fault then skylarking around. This has been going on for decades since long before you or I was borne. Different dares in different eras. Did he MUG, Molest, Steal, Rape or threaten anyone? No he acted without thought on the spur of the moment. I wonder how many of you can look back and honestly say that with some of the things you got up to in your youth that you are not lucky to be here today. But we live and learn. Poor Chris will not. His family and friends not only have to suffer this great loss but have to put up with People who get on the high ground and cant wait to voice opinions. I agree Sandy. I doubt that they would like to see some of these comments if it was their relative or friend. How about showing a little bit of respect for such a young life being lost rather than "awaiting the usual platitudes" which I think is an inappropriate comment. He made a mistake but that doesn't make him any less of a decent person. We all make mistakes but, the majority of us get to learn from them.

I have to disagree with sandy and the comment above - everyone is sayin how much they will miss chris and how much they care, but who did the 3 idiots care about - not one of the hundreds of road users and pedestrians did they? No. Very Very little sympathy from me - people think their so cool these days its an absolute joke! Even now - they have lost a friend - they're still going to be ridin the bike up and down being idiots causing problems because they don't learn! Who do they care about apart from themselves. Any decent person would have worn a helmet AT LEAST!! never mind 3 of them on a bike and no license! its absolutely rediculous how anyone could have full respect for them. Absolute Idiots. If I was a car caught in the collision I would be going mad at how stupid the youth's act thinking their amazingly "cool" raggin about a dirt bike causing chaos. They live round there, they know the road is a main road used by hundreds of car, bike and other road users day in day out. What did they think could happen? That a bike could hold off a car or even a bus! Highly doubt it. The lads in hospital should feel extemely ashamed of themselves. But yet again, they will be back on their bikes, mopeds whatever next week... selfish selfish selfish is all i can say. You may think i'm being rude but this is NOT a lesson learnt. They will never learn. This isn't the first and won't be the last... I am sorry he has died however if he was alive i'm sure it wouldn't be long before they're all messin around on main roads again. Calling them idiots will NOT bring back a life. It is very unfair of you 'Claire Brown' to say that they will never learn, as i'm pretty sure losing family or a friend affects the whole of your life (which clearly involves the things you do). A lesson i've learned not too long ago. It's saddening to think that you feel very little sympathy for the loss of a life- disregarding the circumstances as to which it was lost. It was a very stereotypical reply from Claire. It was a mistake that only 2 of the boys are now able to learn from.

No matter how much you think they were "idiots" they didnt deserve to die. if it was your son, im sure ur comments would be very different

This is a terrible tragedy. Yes the boys were foolish, but they did not deserve to come to harm. As one reply said, the boys should have been, and indeed others like them, encouraged to join proper off road biking clubs. I am fully aware of the problems of off road bikes, and quad bikes roaring up and down Dentons roads; I have seen one maniac doing easily over 100mph wheelies up Stockport Road nr St Lawrence's church. This happens a lot in the summer, and I have reported it to the police and the council. Yet no speed camera. This is a must on Stockport Road near the church where school children and mothers cross the road regularly. What are the council going to do to prevent future accidents? How are the carefree and sometimes reckless teenagers going to be encouraged to do things they enjoy safely and correctly?
When are the rich and greedy of this country & this world going to put money back into the community and set up clubs and societies for the kids? The footballers and pop star mega millionaires (some from Denton), wealthy capitalists, and corrupt governments could dip into their fat wallets and sort this mess out.

Why would you go speeding at god nose an hour on to a really busy road i do give a bit of sympathy to the victim but the driver........LOADS because that driver has to face the criminal record when he wasn't expecting some idiots on bikes speeding round the corner its not write and the judge has to deiced but i would pray for the driver to be not guilty !

It seems unlikely in this case that the driver is accountable in any way. There seems to be enough witnesses that will vindicate this. If the police are satisfied that the driver is blameless, I doubt if it will or even should go to court. The driver still has to live with this though, which is pretty tough if you have done nothing wrong. Much tougher for the lads family though.

do you no what not 1 of you new chris and i think that its pretty discusting that you would talk about a dead boy like that have you any idea what we are all going threw do you not think that loosing a friend is bad enuf for us without you lot bitching and looking for a convosation between each other chris mason was a good lad he may have been a bit of a jack the lad but he dident deserve to die .. yes maby 3 of them shoudent have been on the bike infact i no 3 of them soudent have been on the bike but have you never heard the exspression boys will be boys nobodys perfect evrybody makes mistakes.!!! do you not think that lewis and scott (the other 2 on the bike) have had punishment enuff that they have lost a close friend ?? think about it if this was you sun brother boyfriend or even a friend of yours you would not be leaving comments like that i am 18 years old alot younger than most of you lot and even i no better !!! keep your thaughts to yourelf in futre and have some cincideration for other peoples feelings !!!!
