Again Well street in Tyldesley has not been gritted. There has been a large housing devolpment at the bottom off Well Street (Hill)for seven years and no car can get up it!

We here at the top of High Crompton are snowed in again. we have a yellow grit bin nearby which the council wont fill, as according to them it is not on their list, so, it doesn't exist!!!

And Rochdale not seen a grain of salt either

tigerluc, don't complain, we are upsetting Laura, who obviously has never encountered proper snow.

and yet again the 415 to holts estate via greenacres has not been seen today and this is a route that a lot of elderly people use

Saw a gritter earlier today in middleton town centre,it came down long st and did two laps of the roundabout at the bottom of long st and went back towards rochdale.Has Alkrington,Rhodes and Middleton town centre been sold off to another council, residents of the areas forgoten by the council should remember this when the local elections come around.

Yet again no road or path treatment for the Bramhall area. Time we started paying council tax on a 'per per view' basis. At this rate mine would be £0.

I'm afraid that all you complainers will simply have to grit your teeth!

here again very heavy snow in oldham and not enough salt on roads evens main roads stuck.
Streets are very bad for elderly people seen some of them struggling.

I'm sure my fellow poster J. Peasmold Gruntfuttock, Peasmouldia intended to say pay per view and I for one think his/her idea is worth thinking about.
Local councils have been able to bill you (the customer) without any kind of itemized statement for far to long.
Does anyone really know what proportion of their local (poll tax) council tax they benefit from?
Under the present system an individual is locally taxed merely for being in existence regardless of what service they may or may not receive, and not according to what they have or earn.
Pay them for what they do for you and your neighborhood (it's local after all) and nothing more.
p.s sorry for the yank spelling (neighborhood) this is my son's laptop,he's a yank but I love anyway;)

Further privatisation of council services, sow e can choose which ones we want, or dont want?

Leon, Peasmodlia, I am with you on that one. I want an itemised bill down to the last £1 on precisely where my money is spent. None of this £7 for the police etc. That is not good enough. I want to know how much is spent in Rammy, how many bobbies do we get per pound and I want that compared to other councils up and down the country.

You are right, there are very very few other businesses who can simply charge you and take your money with no explanation. In fact Bankers are the only other ones to get away with it, i.e. £999 product fee for a new mortgage, so what is that all about given they are going to make £50k in interest out of you. Why is there a product fee, well we know the answer to that. It's because they can rip us off and the labour government will allow because they do the same.

ive just found out where all the grit is, alderley edge village, home to the rich and famous, no sign of ice round there and even the pavements are gritted.guess money talks eh!

Usually Labour are under fire for forcing police, councils and the like to spend too much time filling in forms, ticking boxes and gathering masses of data. Its not often we come across someone demanding they do more of it.

yet again for the second time in two weeks Tameside Council let us down, not a gritter seen all weekend end, "major side roads" left untouched as per last week. I live on a unadopted estate but still have to pay my council tax - what for thought, they have left us totally to our own devices. Well all I can say is wait till May comes around and Cllr Lane is due for re-election. My vote won't be going Labour's way.

Why not?
Nobody in the UK has any choice left to make when it comes to what their money is spent on by their elected officials, because only a few exercise their right of choice at the ballot box.

Citycentre, I am not asking for more form filling at all. They already know where everypenny is spent, or at least they should do as they should have reciepts and budget allocations for every penny. All I am asking for is an accurate and detialed view of the accounts. Given that we have computers nowadays I just need them to hit print to pdf.
