FOOTBALLER El Hadji Diouf picked up yet another booking for illegally parking his car – then asked a homeless man to take the ticket off his windscreen.
The Premier League star parked his £420,000 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren in a loading bay as he picked up a pizza at city centre Italian restaurant San Carlo.
And when he spotted the parking ticket on the windscreen after getting back in the car, he opened the door and asked a man on the street to remove it.
The man, who had been 'minding' Diouf's car, passed him the ticket and the millionaire player drove away.
It is the latest in a string of parking tickets picked up by the 28-year-old Senegalese star, who reportedly earns £40k-a-week playing for Blackburn Rovers.
The MEN reported on Tuesday this week how Diouf received a ticket when he left his silver Mercedes in the loading bay outside San Carlo.
And the day after our story appeared, he left the high-powered motor, sporting a new white paint job, in exactly the same spot – and was ticketed again.
Diouf is a regular customer at the Italian restaurant on King Street West favoured by celebrities. His favourite order is the £8 San Carlo takeaway pizza which he collects by car.
He also often collects a parking ticket along with his order, as the city centre's parking wardens swoop on his car parked illegally on the street outside.
Undeterred
But Diouf does not appear to be deterred by the £30 penalty (which rises to £60 if not paid promptly.)
In the latest incident on Wednesday evening, Diouf was seen climbing into the Mercedes and then opening the 'gull wing' door on the car to chat to a man on the street.
An MEN video shows the man leaned forward and removed the ticket from under the windscreen wiper before handing it to the footballer.
The man, who claimed to be homeless, told the MEN that Diouf had promised to return later and pay him for minding his car.
He said: “This is the third time he’s done this. The other night I waited for 25 minutes and he never came back. I don’t think he’ll be coming back tonight either.”
A source at the restaurant said they considered Diouf, who has played for Liverpool, Bolton Wanderers and Sunderland, as one of their best customers.
The San Carlo insider said: “He is always here and he knows everybody. He likes the pizzas, garlic bread and the Rose wine. He is not like your typical footballer. He is a really friendly good guy. He always parks outside but he never mentions the tickets.”

You can clearly see from the pictures that he was parked inside some sort of BOX (maybe a delivery only box)
“The restaurant says that he is always in here and always parks outside” , these people really do believe that they are above the law , next time they should just tow his car away. And M.E.N please stop giving these people the publicity they so desperately want.
I didn’t hear him thank the gent that took his ticket off his window.
And he might have paid £420000 for this car but its pretty rubbish if you can’t get a few pizzas in the boot.

Perhaps by the 5th or 6th ticket Mr Diouf might decide to order home-delivery.

Perhaps he should have a word with the Queen as she seems to think its ok to take the public money but doesn’t want us to see what she does whilst not on official engagements

What I would say is does he have 2 of these cars because the headline yesterday had him in a chrome one... now that is some serious money being thrown around.

Somebody pointed out that the cars parked outside the opening of Rosso the other week looked as if a group of children with no taste had been given a few million quid, and let loose in a car showroom. Woops, sorry was that in the parking bays closed for 'on street filming' where the filming was 'filming the cars'?
In the 'Baco foil' paint job the car looked tacky, and showed that money can't buy taste,
Every time you watch footy on Sky who paid millions for the rights to screen matches, or buy an overpriced nylon shirt with your team's name on it, you help promote this inflated greed and arrogance.
The average GDP of someone from Senegal is $1,066. Puts a £420,000 car with a tinfoil paint job in perspective doesn't it? How many other Senegal people would consider a £30 parking ticket good value.
The Parking offence? Well, apart from the car being parked, and offensive, there are double yellow lines on the corner over the road from San Carlo, and near Kendals parking bay.
