A TEENAGE yob with a history of convictions killed a man in a hit and run smash just hours after being released from a young offenders institute.
Asa Hunter was just 15 -years-old when he drove at up to 60mph and ploughed before ploughing into Thomas Drane, 61, on Mount Road, Gorton, in a stolen Vauxhall Vectra which had wearing false plates.
Then, after being caught and released on bail, Hunter drove into a group of young people in Reddish following a minor row, injuring two boys.
Hunter - who was turned in by his own mother for the hit and run - pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and assaults causing actual bodily harm and grievous bodily harm last month.

Today at Manchester Crown Court, Judge Anthony Hammond unmasked Hunter, now 16, by lifting the reporting restrictions which usually protect the identity of young criminals.
The court heard how Hunter's violent criminal history dates back to when he was 11 and includes driving offences committed when he was just 12.
At the time of the hit and run Hunter was on licence after being released from the youth offenders institute and was in breach of an Asbo.
Despite not being able to legally drive he had also been banned from the road.
The court heard Hunter, originally from Gorton, had a total of 19 convictions for 49 offences since 2005. These included car thefts, criminal damage, robbery and breach of an Asbo, for which he had spent several periods in youth detention.
His most recent spell in custody at Hindley Young Offenders Institution, near Wigan, was a three-month sentence for failing to comply with previous sentences.
Judge Hammond said there was a risk of Hunter killing again and detained him for the public protection. He will be locked up stay in jail until the authorities are confident he is no longer a danger - and will have to serve at least three years before parole can be considered.
Stamped
The court heard Hunter's passenger in the car, Thomas Ward, stamped on a woman's head eight times during a carjacking in Hyde committed weeks after Mr Drane was killed.
Ward, also 16, of Stockport Road, Longsight, who admitted aggravated vehicle taking and assault at an earlier hearing, was jailed for four-and-half years.
On the same April morning Hunter was released from Hindley Young Offenders Institution the Vauxhall Vectra was stolen from an address in Leigh.
Later that day Hunter was driving the car in Gorton with Ward and two girls as passengers. Hunter was doing handbrake turns in to impress the girls when he spotted the police.
He sped off through the streets with Ward pleading with him to slow down before finally hitting Mr Drane at Mount Road on April 11. His body was recovered 37 metres away,
Maurice Greene, prosecuting, said. Hunter drove on with a smashed windscreen before dumping the car on Cranmere Avenue.
The next day Hunter rang his mother Joanne Carrington, told her there had been an accident and that there was a man dead.
He told her: "It was an accident mum, I didn't mean to do it.
Scotland
"I've got a grand in my pocket, I'm halfway to Scotland. I'm off."
The boy's mother had already been told about his involvement with the accident and had told police.
Meanwhile the two girls had already handed themselves in.
After Hunter was arrested Ward was picked up.
In interviews Ward said: "Asa hadn't seemed bothered about the accident."
The court also heard that Hunter had made light about his crimes in prison.
Despite this, Mark Ford, defending, said his troubled young client, who had been brought up with virtually no guidance, did feel remorse.
Passing sentence, His Honour Judge Hammond said: "At the present time you are a dangerous offender. You are highly likely to commit serious specified offences and you are very likely to cause death or serious harm by the commission of those offences."

Well I hope the social services and lawyers who would have fought for his release and the judge who granted it can sleep at night knowing what monster they've let loose

That being the case I am surprised you were not guiding him on to the righteous path yourself Angie. It seems you left it for others. I hope his mother is not single or the ground you stand on slips away.
