THIS is the man police want to speak to about a double fatal shooting in a Salford pub almost four years ago.

Marcus Rico Callaghan, 25, is thought to have returned to the UK after spending time in Spain following the killing of Carlton Alveranga and Richard Austin at the Brass Handles pub.

Officers say he may pose a danger to the public and should not be approached.

Police were already hunting Callaghan in connection with a robbery and kidnapping when Alveranga and Austin were killed.

They went to the pub on March 2006 and opened fire on David Totton and Aaron Travers but both were only wounded.

The gunmen were then overpowered in the pub and shot dead with their own guns. Ian McLeod and Constance Howarth were found guilty of conspiracy to the murders in March 2007 but officers believe that Callaghan still holds vital information.

McLeod organised the hit while Howarth acted as a 'spotter' inside the pub, guiding two of McLeod's hit men to their target.

Bobby Speirs, 41, was sentenced to 23 years behind bars for masterminding the botched hit in May.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information on his whereabouts to call them on 0161 856 8259 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
