A MYSTERY campaigner is flagging up the problem of dog mess in a bizarre bid to keep the streets clean.
Tiny yellow flags are being neatly placed in dog mess on pavements in Edgeley, Stockport, bearing the slogan `Another Lazy Dog Owner'. A package of the little flags, attached to cocktail sticks, arrived at the M.E.N's sister paper Stockport Express, with a manifesto for cleaning up the streets. But the campaigner is keeping their identity secret.
They wrote: "Dogs fouling the pavement is an age-old problem, but just recently it seems to have got considerably worse. The fines threatened are almost impossible to implement, and therefore no deterrent.
"I have a small family, and have become increasingly frustrated having to clean my toddler's bikes, scooters and all the families' shoes, especially now it's darker earlier and you can't see what you're walking in."
The mysterious campaigner, who signs off as `a concerned Edgeley resident', hopes the flags will help highlight the problem. Edgeley councillor and dog owner Philip Harding, who has also launched a campaign to clear up dog fouling in the area, welcomed them.
He said: "The campaign by this person is great, everything like this helps to keep the streets clean.
"It's not the dog's fault, it's the owner. We are trying to spread the word that this is a very anti- social thing for people to allow their dogs to do."
Do you know the identity of the mystery campaigner ? Call the M.E.N newsdesk on 211 2468.

I've got a better idea, why not put the owners down. The dog hasn't got a clue about the trouble it causes when it curls one beside a pile of brown leaves and you spend the next 2 hours scraping it off your loafers, the human on the other end of the lead does though!

By the way Guten Tag - I know that it can be very annoying (and disgusting) to step in poo, but its not the dog's fault - its the owners, so your opinion about putting the dog down is not only over the top but also very stupid.

Dog dirt is a health hazard, and (some of) the dog owners around here in Didsbury, think that by sneaking around in the dark nights/mornings, they will not be recognised if they wrap themselves in scarves and hats - wrong, try disguising your pooch.
The next offender I see not cleaning up after their mutt, will have their picture and address details - I'm prepared to confront the idiots, and I'm a big fella - passed on to the authorities for them to take action.
So, if you live around the Didsbury Lanes/Springdale Gardens area, have a care.

One for marking litter.
One for marking cars parked on the pavement.
One for graffiti.
One for wheelie bins left on the pavements.
And how about one for all horse poo left behind by our local mounted police?
Oh yeah, and one to mark all the silly little flags marking everything everywhere!!!
Regards.

I witnessed a dog owner with two small lap dogs a few months ago, letting his dogs poop on a grassy area outside a hospital outpatient clinic in manchester and just walked away!
prior to that apparently, the dogs had been spotted left in their owner's car unattended.

People tend not to give their dogs bones any more. So, there is more protein and less calcium in the pet food, and this is seen in what the dog deposits.
I always carry a sack of bones around with me. (Don't tell her I call her that!) ;-)

A genuine remark from a Council's complaints log.
