POLICE have been granted an extra seven days to question five people arrested in anti-terror raids.

Four men - including an Islamic preacher from Deane, Bolton - were seized in operations across Greater Manchester, and a fifth at Heathrow Airport.

They are being questioned over allegations they were involved in recruiting young British Muslims for terror training in camps in Afghanistan.

The swoop - in the early hours of Monday - followed a police operation lasting more than a year.
