FOOTAGE showing a hit-and-run motorist colliding with a pedestrian, leaving him in a critical condition, has been released.
The CCTV video shows a man crossing Buckley Lane in Bolton, then being flung into the air by the vehicle which immediately drove off shortly before 8:15pm on Sunday 25 October.
Police attended and discovered the 43-year-old victim with life threatening injuries. He was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
Detectives are now trying to find the vehicle, described as a silver Vauxhall Vectra. It was last seen heading towards the New Bury estate.
Sgt Garry Lyle, from the Road Policing Unit, said: "To knowingly leave a man dying in the road is nothing short of appalling and the actions of a coward.
"I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or knows the current whereabouts of the car or its driver to call police.
"The collision caused considerable damage to the windscreen on the passenger side of the car so I would urge anyone who spots it, or anyone who has been approached with a view to repairing it to call police immediately.
"Someone will know where it is and who was driving and I would appeal to them to please do the right thing and get in touch."
Anyone with information is asked to call the Road Policing Unit on 0161 856 7201, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Notice how he turned his lights off straight afterwards so witnesses would not get the registration. Probably a career criminal.
