A KNIFEMAN who stabbed a nightclub doorman to death was snared by a friend who captured his confession on a secret camera.
Shah Mohammed Sykendar Ali, 26, was jailed for life after knifing Mohamed Kaleem Rafeek 13 times in a Longsight park. He also stabbed another bouncer 13 times in the chest and neck, during the same attack.
Manchester Crown Court heard how Sykendar later told a friend how he had a knife in his hand: "I just ended up using it ... it was through some mad rage and the rage had taken over," he said.
The confession was secretly recorded on a pen-style mini camera and then handed to the police.
Six other men have been jailed for their involvement in Kaleem's death which followed a fight outside city centre nightclub The Mansion, where Kaleem worked.
Kaleem and Sykendar's younger brother, Shah Sultan Ali, were involved in the fight outside the popular Longworth Street nightspot. CCTV footage appears to capture the fracas outside the club - click on the video window to see the footage.
Later that evening, Kaleem and fellow bouncer Amri Mahmood were lured to Birchfields Park in Longsight after agreeing to meet the men involved in the earlier dispute to resolve the argument without violence. But when the two doormen arrived at the park, in the early hours of Sunday, March 29, they were punched, kicked and stabbed.
David Steer QC, prosecuting, told the court that during the attack: "Amri Mahmood turned to Rafeek (Kaleem) and held him in his arms, and at that point he felt what he believed to be repeated punches to his back. He was, in fact, being stabbed repeatedly."
Amri managed to call 999 despite his injuries -

Kaleem died at the scene.
Sykendar Ali's friend, Omar Khan, later organised a meeting with Sykendar and recorded his confession.
Sykendar Ali was arrested at Manchester Airport as he was about to board a flight to Bangladesh.
Shah Sultan Ali, 19, and a third brother Shah Mohammed Gozombor Ali were jailed for two-and-a-half years for their part in the attack. They were not involved in the stabbing.
Four other men admitted violent disorder and were jailed.
Kaleem's father, Ismail Mohamed Rafeek, speaking on behalf of Kaleem's mother, Fathima Fuzna and his two sisters, Thahira and Humairah, said: "Our lives have been torn apart and our feelings can never truly be reflected in any statement. We have been robbed of a golden son.
"Kaleem had a big heart, was a devout Muslim and an excellent student. He was extremely hard working and fitted in two jobs around his studies. He gave to charity and used the money he earned to help support our family.
"Kaleem was not only my son, he was also my best friend. It is not over yet, they have to face the court of God."
Detective Superintendent Julian Ross, said: "This was a pre-meditated, savage and callous attack on two men who were unarmed and outnumbered."
Shah Mohammed Sykendar Ali, 26, of Raincliff Avenue, Longsight pleaded guilty to murder and Section 18 assault. He was sentenced to life and ordered to serve a minimum of 17-and-a-half years.
Shah Mohammed Gozombor Ali, 23, of Raincliff Avenue, Longsight, pleaded guilty to violent disorder and was jailed for two-and-a-half years.
Shah Sultan Ali, 19, of Raincliff Avenue, Longsight, admitted violent disorder and was sentenced to two-and-a-half years.
Umair Sajjad, 19, Penruddock Walk, Longsight, pleaded guilty to violent disorder and was jailed for 18 months.
Raphale Mondale Evans, 19, of Clarence Road, Longsight, pleaded guilty to violent disorder and was sentenced to 18 months.
Yousaf Zarif Ilyas, 19, of Belvoir Avenue, Levenshulme, admitted violent disorder and was jailed for 18 months.
Waqas Ahmed, 24, of Oadby Close, Belle Vue, pleaded guilty to violent disorder and was sentenced to 12 months.

Also, why on earth would you agree to meet in a park late at night to discuss an earlier altercation?

Unite against the UAF,
No I don't, and I would like you to explain where I insinuated that.
I think this 'friend' did exactly the right thing as it happens.

If you think someone has committed a serious crime then you should tell the police, even if it’s your own brother or family, then you will be in gods good book
