DETECTIVES have named a man they want to speak to after a man was left paralysed following a spade attack at a pub.
The 42-year-old man was hit over the head in July at the Fairfax pub on Fairfax Road, Prestwich.
Police said the attack crushed three bones in his neck. He is paralysed from the shoulders down.
Police are keen to speak to Thomas Joseph Power, 23, in connection with the attack.
Det Con David Thorpe said: "The victim in this assault has suffered horrendous injuries as a result of a totally unprovoked attack. We are eager to trace Thomas and I would urge anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward."
Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 8240 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Turn him in. It's time for him to be bricked in HMP.

Err perhaps they have been seeking relevant information for some time - perhaps Mr Power has been lying low for some time now!It is unusual for police to make a newspaper request for information without exhausting other avenues open to them. Mr Storm - you should really engage brain before typing.
