WHILE most ladies of her age are happy doing a bit of knitting or playing with the grandkids, Mary Jones's life is dominated by one thing - the pursuit of the perfect adrenaline rush.
Having being in a pen with a lion and experienced the thrill of a helicopter ride, the 77-year-old is pushing the boundaries further. She has driven a racing car at 130mph and piloted a jumbo jet flight simulator. Now she can add steering a hovercraft to the list.
Mary, from Oldham, said: "When my daughter told me about hovercrafting . It was really different but you have to steer it on your knees so my legs were a bit sore after." But her thirst for new challenges remain. She said: "I'm curious. I just want to see what these things are like.
Watch Mary in action here ...
"Next, I'd like to go up in a hot air balloon and in a shooting gallery like in James Bond.
"I'd like to drive a train but I don't think I've got the energy for that. And it's dear. But I am going for a tour around a submarine . . ."
Tim Robbins, from Hoverdays in Shropshire where Mary took to the hovercraft, said: "It is the first time we have had a 77-year-old here. She enjoyed it"
