THE funeral has taken place of a Salford University student killed by a hit-and-run driver.
Shuo Feng, 27, died instantly when a car being pursued by police crossed on to the wrong side of a dual carriageway and hit him in Regent Road, Ordsall last month.
His mother Li Bai, 54, who travelled from the north eastern Chinese city of Dalian for the service - now faces financial hardship as she had taken out loans to pay for her son's education.
Friends, university staff and a representative from the Chinese consulate supported her at the service held at Agecroft Chapel yesterday.
Shuo's ashes will be scattered at sea off the Formby coast.
At the service a photograph was displayed of Shuo - known as Paul - taken outside Manchester United's ground. He had been studying for a master's degree in information systems.Anyone with information about the accident should call 0161 872 5050 or 0800 555111.
