THE devastated family of a murdered teenager are furious after photos of his killer in prison were posted on Facebook.
Shane Boyd, 17, was jailed for life in February after he smashed Conor Black, 16, from Moston, over the head with a beer can and then plunged a kitchen knife into his back.
A judge branded him `truly wicked' and said he would serve a minimum of 11 years after a jury at Manchester Crown Court was told he had bragged he was `the best' as Conor bled to death.
Now members of Conor's family have seen photographs of Boyd - and a copy of his prison ID card - which were posted on the social networking site after they were taken during a `family day' at the young offenders' institution near Bristol where he is being held.
Photos
Blackley MP Graham Stringer has urged Justice Secretary Jack Straw to investigate.
Conor's mother Anita Black, 44, said: "He is supposed to be being punished for his crime, but there are photos of him all over Facebook. It's disgusting."
Boyd, of Nowell Road, Middleton, was convicted in January of murdering Conor, who was described by his family as a `lovely lad with a big smile'.
Boyd attacked Conor after he was invited to a party at a house in Moston in August last year.
Boyd's 20-year-old cousin, John Boyd, was sentenced to three years at a young offenders' institution after pleading guilty to attempting to pervert the course of justice and assault involving a prosecution witness.
Shane Boyd is pictured wearing rosary beads in the photos, which were on family and friends' Facebook pages. A close-up of his ID card shows his name, date of date of birth and prison number.
Taunted
One member of Conor's family said: "Putting pictures like this on Facebook is glorifying his crime. "He's supposed to be being punished in prison, but to see something like this is unbelievable."
Mr Stringer said: "I have written to Jack Straw and the prison service asking them to investigate. This family has suffered a terrible tragedy and to be taunted in this way is unacceptable."
A Prison Service spokesman said: "Prisoners cannot personally contribute to websites. They are not allowed to access the internet, except in exceptional circumstances and under strict supervision.
"We are unable to prevent third parties from publishing information on other people's behalf."

Rocket science it aint mate. And the people at the top are not wondering why the BNP are gaining power. This is largely because they are not (gaining any significant power); just a little popularity among largely uneducated members of the working class community. These tend to be the same people who get their information from 'newspapers' with colour pictures of half naked women on the third page and believe it to be factual.
And while we are locking people up, lets not forget that the BNP and it's members are themselves part of the law breaking community. The actual 'party' for it's illegal discrimination in the workplace (refusing to employ or allow non white members into the ranks - is actually illegal under the race relations act as I understand it). If being dumb as a bag of pennies were a crime they would all be locked up. After all, this is the party who claim to love Great Britain more than anything else, and yet to a man they rabidly support a long dead GERMAN ruler, a turkish patron saint and a royal family as English as a bus load of tourists.
So, I guess it was rocket science after all Hotdog, because crime and the british justice system, which has only the same failings as any other system in the western world, is not really the reason why the BNP are gaining a little popularity ater all. Sorry to rain all over your parade again ha ha

Jo14 I don't think the family are upset the photos are on facebook more the fact the murderer who tore their family apart is not being punished.
Its nice to know murderers are kept in 'secure' prisons. I assumed visits took place in a visit room not out and about. Imagine what could be passed to the offender with family in such close proximity.
