POLICE have released graphic CCTV footage of two attacks which landed offenders in jail.

The first shows Terrence Calder, 26, of Wenfield Drive, Blackley, kicking a man. He also stabbed him three times, punched him and bit his finger outside a bar in Oldham.

He was jailed for five-and-a-half years for the attack, which left the victim with wounds so big they could not be stitched.

The second CCTV shot shows a vicious assault outside a club in Ashton-in-Makerfield.

Three attackers were given a total of three-and-a-half years.

Joanne card, it wont because the sentences are far to short, these animals will be out with a tag in no time, while inside its like an holiday camp, dvds, mp3's, gym, visits, computers, ipods, phone cards, (illegal mobiles), laptops, fed 3 times a day, paid wages if they work, allowed to smoke even though there is apart from prisons a national no smoking law. Allowed to do more or less what they want, when they come out they dont feel as though as they have been punished.If they got 20 years and wer made to serve 20 years in harsh conditions then yes they would realise the error of their ways but here in the UK, there are too many money grabbing experts that will for £5000 write a report saying oh well this is down to his experiences as a child at the age of 6 when this happened or that happened, lawyers milking the legal aid system dragging cases on and on.When this country wakes up and it will do one day then the fight to return it to the fine country it once was will begin

While I deplore this kind of behaviour, which is the product of drunkeness and nothing to do with sentencing - I would love to know where this prison is you keep going on about? It sounds like a holiday spa. Have you ever been or did you read about it in the Daily Mail?

Secondly, if you ever decide to pick up a history book, you will see that the Manchester of yesteryear was a hell of a lot more violent and anarchic (this is back in your misty eyed heyday) than it is now.

Anyone found guilty of an offence whilst drunk or uses the excuse I had been drinking shouild be barred fom licenced premises for 5years and if they are caught again either drunk or in licensed premises straight in prison for 5 years. No appeal, If all these smart lawyers were not paid by legal aid I wonder how many would represent these thugs

I guess they feel like they are "big men" when they beat the h$%^ out of someone, especially ganging up on someone. That's total B.S. And the sentence that they are given is just "laughable". They will be right back out there attacking someone else because they will know that the law won't keep them locked up very long. Dispictable is what it is.
