John Prescott has challenged David Cameron to a face-to-face debate on the NHS and invited Twitter users to submit questions for the Tory leader.
The former Labour debuty leader is visiting Manchester and he issued the challenge after discovering Mr Cameron was also in the area giving a speech on the NHS in Bolton.
He wrote on his Twitter feed: "I’m in Manchester. Cameron’s in Bolton. Just challenged him to debate NHS face to face. No spin doctors no staged photo op."
Mr Cameron has been forced to state his support for the NHS after Tory MEP Daniel Hannan rubbished the Britian's health service in American TV interviews.
