12 years for brutal rapist

CAGED: Ali Majid Kadir

A THUG who repeatedly raped a student in a Manchester park, was today starting a 12-year prison term.

Ali Majid Kadir 21, of Upper Chorlton Road, Whalley Range, was found guilty of three counts of rape at Manchester Crown Court.

He was sentenced to 12-years on each charge, but the terms will run concurrently.

He has also been ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Police are still hunting a second man who was an accomplice to the violent attack which happened on Sunday September 21 last year.

The court was told that the pair took advantage of the victim, who was in her 20s and had lost her way, after leaving a friend's home in Longsight.

She asked them for directions, and they offered to help her find her way.

The three walked around for about an hour, before the men led her to Alexandra Park, where Kadir and the second man began drinking alcohol, and smoking cannabis.

The victim became uncomfortable and attempted to walk off, but was grabbed by one of the men, stripped naked and repeatedly raped.

After the men left, the woman got dressed and made her way onto a nearby street where she hailed a taxi which dropped her off outside the Queen of Hearts pub on Wilmslow Road, Fallowfield.

She was met by a friend who described the victim as being 'hysterical' and 'shaking vigorously'.

An investigation was launched by police, and Kadir was eventually charged after DNA samples linked him to the rapes.

Det Con Charlotte Nutter, of Longsight CID, said: "The victim was clearly lost and becoming upset when she came across Kadir and the other man. He used the situation to his advantage and subjected the woman to a completely vile attack. Understandably the victim is still haunted by what has happened but I hope this sentence will help her move on in some small way. I am pleased Kadir will now spend many years behind bars where he belongs."

Police are still hunting Mamand Rasoulpour in connection with the attack.

When you hear stories like this the one hope you have is that justice will prevail and act as a huge deterrent to other sick individuals within our society. The problem is that jail terms like this will be shortened no doubt for good behaviour and will be spent in a prison that these days resemble a hotel. Why can’t the justice system be changed to put the fear of god into these people and make them think about the consequences of their actions before they do it. Until we take a hard line and take a stand then horrific stories like this will sadly keep appearing...

These monsters should be hanging from a rope,This girl has to live with this all her life sso she dosnt get time off for good behaviour.Its time we got real in britain and looked after the "VICTIM" .Britain and we should close the door on people using britain as place to commit crime then run back to the country they have come from....

12 years for an offence he could have got life for but will probably serve only 6 or 7. An offence he committed not once but three times. An act that spreads like a virus, destroying the woman, her family and her partner. An offence that through its very existence is as abhorrent as murder and will remain with the woman for the rest of her life, living in every relationship she will ever experience in the future. And he got 12 years. I just wonder how the Judge would have felt if it had been him or his daughter or wife, would he still think 12 years is enough for this vermin.

I'd be distraught if it was one of my daughters he'd devastated in this way. He should be either put down or introduced in prison as a rapist and let the other inmates give him the treatment he deserves. Scum of the earth and I agree with Mike S that his sentence should be increased for not divulging the name of his lowlife accomplice. They should both rot in hell.

The laws in england have got to be change to reflect todays society. Unfortunately we have got to impress on young women having a good night out as well. Not to wander off stay with a group of friends and order a taxi home. Because time and time again these stories crop up regular. As for the guilty let them out in front of a baying crowd of women, then justice will be served.

Sadly there is a growing problem in some parts of our community with men who for whatever reason think that drunk vunrable young womon are fair game to rape, I feel it a symtom of how these people are raised, how thay see women in there own home being treated and also how there own culture says that women and young girls who dress in a certain way or speak or act, are activly asking for it, so the blame lies with them. Thank god MOST men in this country can control themselves and women dont have to cover themselves from head to foot like thay do in certain countrys, women died so thay could be treated with respect and euality in this country and its high time certain cultures take the blame off the women who are violated and realise the blame lies closer home.

I agree entirely Brock and the top two posters are correct. Why can't we change our laws for sentences to run consecutively like in the US ? This scumbag would be doing at least 40 for this crime then.

Why do sentences run concurrently? He may as well have gone an raped as many women as he liked that night. At the end of the day he would have got just 12 years maximum, irrespective of the number of victims. It just doesn't make sense.

And why do we have this nonsensical rule about time off for good behaviour? When the sentence is decided, is it on the basis that the defendant will be incredibly badly behaved while in prison? Again, a load of nonsense.

Once a rapist always a rapist. He'll still be young when he gets out, and just as dangerous. I'd have him chemically castrated.

Thanks goodness that his DNA was on file so that he could be caught quickly. Human Rights activists please take note.

We in the UK follow the USA in almost everything they do except sentences and prison building, in the US this would have merited 99 years, no parole, simple as that, and once in prison not treated like fairies but made to work hard etc

Vote for me and ill bring back hanging, that will solve the prison crisis and cut down on social secuity payments, Baby ps killers can go first then Ian Huntley, and Ian Brady who has been on hnger strike for 7 years (how rubbish is he).

Why not offer prisoners life sentences on an island like SOuth Georgia in the south atlantic, its a long swim back.

These crimes are getting worse everyday - and until we bring back the Death Penalty they will just continue - Hang Him ! - He will serve less than 6 years, and will come our of prison with more criminal trianing, and do it again or worse !
