A THUG who repeatedly caused problems in Piccadilly Gardens has been banned from entering the city centre for two years.
Magistrates agreed to impose an Anti Social Behaviour Order on 36-year-old Mamadou Alouba Bah, of St Stephen's Close, Ardwick, following an application by Manchester council.
The court was told that he had frequently behaved in a threatening and aggressive manner, and in the most recent incident had attacked a busker.
The Asbo states that he must stay out of the centre, unless for pre-arranged visits to doctors, solicitors or for future court appearances. He has also been warned against acting in any anti-social way, threatening violence, or carrying any offensive weapon in public.

What offensive weapons were they? Were they bladed instruments? Surly a custodial sentence is called for as per the reported offensive weapons.

Also even if he doesn't breach it I am certain his behaviour will remain so he will simply takes his thuggish ways elsewhere. Better to have him removed from society for a few years and behind bars so as to leave those decent people to get on with their lives without fear.
I am good at remembering faces and will have my eyes peeled next time I am in the city centre. Time was when thugs like this couldn't get away with this behaviour because the community would have dealt with him. Now people just walk on and ignore crime.
I was invloved in an incident when somebody without ID was refused alcohol and boy did she kick off with the till worker. A really disgusting, foul mouthed tirade belittling and abusing this poor chap. I told her to calm down and go elsewhere and she started on me! Apparently I had 'dissed her' and she would 'make me plead big time' and would 'face me up with a toolie and pop me'.
I didn't understand a word but was mildly amused.
What kind of people are being bred these days?

As all these are criminal offences anyway, need he be warned. He should just be punished correctly the first time, not warned to behave and given another chance.

While those all are offences, to be punished criminally requires them to be proven in court, while the degree of proof required for an ASBO is much lower, and its breach easier to prove than the original offences
