We have so many of these bike being ridden off road illegal with riders who don't wear a helmet, the useless GMP don't even turn out for them now.

Can we put some lamp posts in the alleyway down our road, there's always some kids riding illegaly down them on offroad motorbikes, they often use it to get away from police

Believe you and me thoughtful, every day illegally ridden motorbikes and illegally driven cars are taken of the road under section 165 of the road traffic. There are a lot less people driving vehicles around Greater Manchester without insurance and driving licences thanks to the efforts of the traffic cops that patrol GMP on a daily basis. So I would get my facts right before commenting if i were you.

Your quick attitude to criticise GMP may be the exact reason as to why you don't get the result you want with these bikes.

Only a very select few in GMP are permitted to actually chase these bikes, the rest can only watch. The reason behind this? Perhaps yourself and others on here that are so quick to criticise them. After articles quick to blame the police for someone getting hurt after they have tried to get away from the police and with readers, like yourself, quick to criticise you can't blame them. They're damned if they chase, they're damned if they don't!

If an officer chases a bike like this and the rider falls off then you have the press, and many members of the public, calling for them to be fired and charged for it. If an officer doesn't chase, they get criticised for that too. Surely the only people to blame in both situations are the riders of these bikes - and in this case, one less will surely be a blessing?

As for this person, if the bike was illegal and they were using it illegally then I have absolutely no sympathy for them whatsoever. Live by the sword, die by the sword. These bikes cause misery for many in Manchester each day and night. They also cause injury to others when things like this happen, so for the rider to come off like this, I won't be shedding a tear. If he survives I hope he's charged with the applicable offences too.

The wall of negative comments,non stop, is what you get if you try to do any work in the community.I can understand how the police feel as Ive been there.More people would be happy to stop you attempting to change anything than would give you support and encouragement.No wonder people dont bother.MEN comments ARE typical.Ive argued this point with my friend who thinks a certain type of person comments on here and its not representative.Maybe its not in some ways,but in the case of negativity its pretty much the same as real life.Say its a nice day and quick as a flash you get 'Not for long' or 'Probably wont last'.I do it myself sometimes.I does wear people down who may have good intentions.Off road bikes fill me with rage.You do reach the point where you cease to care or think about the rider.I just want the noise to stop.I can see the difficulties the police have regarding these things and the regular public crushing of mountains of them will deter some parents from buying them.Negativity is contagious and difficult to ignore when it is present in great and determined waves.Who knows how many parents will get rid of these bikes in the area where this accident has happened,and hopefully the lad recovers to tell his tale to some who will then be deterred.Someone bought my grandson an electri car a few years ago when he was about 4.I wasnt happy.On Christmas day he went to spare land to try it out and it was tested first by an older child.Straight into a tree and written off.Wonderful!Luckily the child wasnt injured.Enjoyed Xmas day after that.The summer months are filled with accidents,children drowning etc.I hope not to focus on that too much as there is so much going on for kids this summer locally and free.Playschemes,things in the park lots of free swimming,street dancing,yes we'll have a bit of that,hockey,all sorts of sports.Get info from council website and let kids enjoy the holidays safely.

Im a positive person who often looks on the bright side of life. I appreciate the difficult job that the police have to do. GMP however, are indeed, shockingly bad at doing their job properly. As they are firm believers of statistics (well their own anyway), perhaps they should check some others and they will see for themselves how bad they are.
