A BOY is fighting for his life after he was struck by a car.

The 10-year-old was crossing Scot Lane in Aspull, Wigan when the accident happened just after 5pm on Wednesday.

Police said the car involved was a Mitsubishi Colt.

The boy is being treated at Manchester Children's Hospital where his condition has been described as 'critical'.

As a result of the crash, Scott Lane was closed between Harold Street and Manchester Road.
