'Zombies' invade city centre

HUNDREDS of bloodied 'zombies' rampaged through the city centre... but it was not just a typical night out in Manchester.

The hordes of undead ghouls were shuffling through the streets to raise cash for charity and bidding to break  a world record.

The Manchester Zombie Walk saw participants dressed in make-up and costumes as they wandered from the Printworks and around the city centre on Sunday evening.

They were aiming to beat the world record - 1,270 zombies in one place at one time - set last year in Nottingham.

But the final tally fell just 160 short. Organiser Carl Whiteley said: "We are going to do the same thing again in October so that the students can join in.”

Profits from the event are going to four charities including Cancer Research, Children in Need, Christies and Cash for Kids.

Well the one thing that could be said for City fans is that they will support them forever even after death.
And that whatever happens they will remain loyal!

I hope that none of them were smoking! Anything goes in Manchester as long as nobody smokes!!

Couldn't be there as i was performing the 'zombie ' dance from the thriller video for the Mayor of Bolton's charity show. We are doing a world record zombie dance attempt on the afternoon of Halloween so i think Carl Whitely and me need a chat, maybe strike a deal. How do i contact him?
My contact details are on our website. If i am not allowed to put a link then typing the words Thrill and bolton into google will find us

This could be a familiar sight next year when United fans see their "wonderful team" loosing on a regular basis.

Steve, you should be able to make contact through zombie-aid.com, the organisers' website.

Saw a clip of this on NWT, TV last night and I saw someone with a fag in their hand! Come on Leese, standards are slipping! Get round to the BBC and demand to view the footage.Them mobilise the GM Police in full force,to arrest the individual! He may be a bit hard to recognize so they will have to bring in the sniffer dogs in to smell the breaths of all those taking part!

Is It Me, what on earth are you going on about?

Tomegranet. I am on aabout the fact that anything is permitted in Manchester bar smoking! And I don't smoke!!

Report This Reply

That's not a fact though is it? People ARE allowed to smoke and they're not permitted to do 'anything' - so again I ask what are you talking about?
