SEVEN men have been jailed after a sickening nightclub brawl.
The group were sentenced at Bolton Crown Court over the incident at Lush, on Haymarket Street, Bury.
Bottles and bricks were thrown and one man was stabbed as the gang rampaged throughout the club on April 12 last year.
The scuffle broke out outside the toilets and spread to the smoking area as horrified clubbers watched on.
At one point CCTV footage captures a man lying on the floor, unconscious, while one of the gang appears to hit him with a brick.
The violence only ended when the group realised they were cornered by security staff and left the club laughing and joking together.
Omar Din, 21, of Arley Avenue, Bury, was jailed for 20 months for violent disorder, 16 months for possession of a bladed article and one month for obstructing a police officer.
Mohammed Din, 36, of the same address, was jailed for 10 months for affray.
Disorder
Warren Machin, 21, of Elizabeth Street, Cheetham Hill, was sentenced to 14 months for violent disorder and three months for possession of a bladed article.
Richard Smith, 28, of Pegwell Drive, Lower Broughton, was jailed for 14 months for violent disorder.
Aldaire Warmington and Lincoln Warmington, both 22 and of Summerville Road, Salford, were given 14 months for violent disorder.
Lenroy Hazel, 52, of Rochdale Old Road, Bury, was sentenced to 12 months for violent disorder and 16 months for possessing an offensive weapon.
Hazel was also sentenced for separate matters and given three years each for possession of a class A drug with intent to supply and supplying a class A drug to run concurrently and consecutively with the other matters, totalling five years and four months.
All of them had pleaded guilty at earlier hearings.
Det Con Dave Looby, of Bury CID, said: "This fight was absolutely shocking and must have been incredibly frightening for the many innocent clubbers, who were simply out to enjoy their night.
"This group of men are pathetic, carrying knives and endangering themselves and other people like this and I am pleased to see they are now all where they belong."

From the description of the CCTV footage, it could have been attempted murder. Why only 16 months for a bladed article (presumably to be used as a knife) when 5 years could have been given

So having drugs carries a heavier sentence than trying to take someones life does it? It's a good job they didn't owe money to the taxman aswell, they'd be looking at life

Like, for example, a female nurse who has to get home at night on her own and might decide to carry a small knife in her bag in case somebody tries to mug or rape her?

So what do you think the consequences should be if you are caught trying to defend yourself?

Blag Flag – Violent monster or sweet little sweetie pie nurse, makes no difference carrying a weapon is both morally wrong and an offence. Or does someones career choice change the law?.

Yes, it's illegal, but I don't accept that it is automatically morally wrong. To your twisted morality it may be, but that's just your opinion.

However you are quite right, anything I post that states my opionion, is just that, my opinion. Now, how shall we decide if it is twisted or not. Whatever you decide is just your opinion. Twisted or not depends whose deciding.

So you think it is "morally wrong" but not "automatically morally wrong." What do you think the differences is?

I agree with you that protesting within 1km of the House of Parliament is illegal but not morally wrong. By the same token, carrying a weapon without any intention of using it aggressively may be illegal, but I don't view it as morally wrong.
