HOME Office minister Phil Woolas paid accountants thousands of pounds of taxpayers’ money to do his tax returns.

There were four bills from an accountants firm, each for £930.60, among the Oldham East and Saddleworth MP’s expenses.

Mr Woolas denied spending taxpayers’ money on personal items after the goods showed up on supermarket receipts that he voluntary submitted.

They included nail polish, women’s shoes, a £5 ladies’ jumper, comics and a £3.77 hair dye.
