OASIS have confirmed they WILL give full refunds to any 'genuinely disappointed' fans who attended Thursday's trouble-hit Heaton Park gig - provided they kept their tickets.
The Gallagher brothers promised to reimburse everyone in the 70,000-strong crowd at the homecoming concert on Thursday after the band was forced off-stage twice due to power failures.
But after a 45-minute delay, they went on to complete a full 23-song set with encore.
That led to speculation the band might back-track on their promise to refund disappointed fans. A statement posted on the official Oasis website said concert goers must send an application form and their tickets to a PO box by Friday, June 12.
They would then be refunded £38.30 within 42 days of that date, the statement said. It read: "This amount is a discretionary goodwill offer being made by Oasis and their promoters, SJM Concerts and Metropolis Music to any genuinely disappointed concert attendees only."
The band left the stage when the generator failed during first song, Rock 'n Roll Star. They quickly returned and launched into Lyla, only for the generator to fail again.
Smoke was seen coming from behind the stage. Fan sites carried quotes from Noel's tour official diary.
They read: "What should've been the start of something monumental turned into a shambles. No sound. Half the lights. No inspiration.
"Somebody lost a LOT of money last night - probably me.
"I think I'm still a bit furious. I would apologise but it was nothing to do with me - you can't get the staff, etc. "
I guess if you're cheeky enough to ask for a refund you'll get one."
Fans on various websites, including the M.E.N's, were divided on whether gig-goers should claim their money back.
Sue Purcell wrote: "Two false starts from Oasis, the atmosphere twice went from electric to dead.... just like the generator.
"My lift home was arranged for 10.50pm, when I left so did hundreds of others. We missed out."
But 'Big Rob', from Didsbury, wrote: "After the technical problems were sorted, they played an absolute stormer of a set - anyone who wants their money back after seeking that needs to give their heads a shake."

We havea police force that is stretched and they announce today that GMP will build a new £63m flash HQ!
As for Oasis great tunes but no show really. They stand glued to the spot. Take a leaf out of Mick Jagger's book and whip the audience into a frenzy as he still does at his age. He runs eight miles per concert, goes on world tours that last eighteen months and does 3 shows a week. Oasis do a gig at Heaton Park and it is an almighty you know what.
My mate lives up there and he was selling beer out of his garden and made £200 so not all bad.

They would have claimed for the original ticket and then claimed the refund.
All within the rules of course...

M.E.N reports on Friday that the residents of Prestwich welcomed Oasis fans with open arms, are so far wide of the mark!!!
Prestwich doesn't need thousands of ill mannered lager lout chavs!!!You could see the gangs of chavs congregating in the city centre, with plastic bags full of beer!! looking for a fight with anyone who dared to look their way!! one good thing though!! the rain will drown them out Saturday and Sunday!!!

Having been involved with the planning of large scale concerts such as this before, I think you will find that licences have to be applied for etc well in advance. These will be firstly in terms of intention to hold an event, giving people the chance to object etc, they are usually in the classified ads of the local paper or posted on lampposts in the local community. If you expected them to knock on every single door and ask opinion then you would have a long wait.
The locals who were selling food/drink from their driveways on Middleton Road and Bury Old Road didnt seem to object too much at the time as they were selling bottles of water that would cost around 80p in a shop for £2 (interested if they declared their earnings!)!
The concert finished at 11.27, I know because I was there and I looked at my watch out of curiosity to see how long they had played in total. The council health and safety and noise abatement departments are always on site for the duration of the show, and would have agreed to the extra time they went over the 11pm curfew, otherwise they would have had the show stopped as they have the power to do so.
Reading your post you would think Prestwich is an exclusive area to the rich and famous, well the facts are it houses a big park that is usually run amok with illegal off-road bike riders and people dogging, lots of big houses full of rich people, and also three of Manchesters most popular brothels-it is not the whiter than white leafy suburb you paint it to be!
One good thing about the rain today and tomorrow means they will be drinking more than they probably would have to make themselves feel better about having to wade through the mud of what is a park that is 70% run down, and hopefully standing outside your house afterwads singing Oasis songs till the early hours

Don't know where you get you info. No off road riders in the park I have ever seen and I travel past or through most days. Neither is it run down. I is very well kept with no mud. Doggers? LOL. No. It is locked up each night. You must mean dogwalkers. Brothels? How would you know that? Heaton park is a great, beautiful place that is used by families and decent people every day and long may it continue. It is glorious in the summer and a smashing place to spend a sunny afternoon. Just wish they would return the hall to it's former glory. Not a big fan but Oasis sounded great.

Get a life and out of the dark ages. There’s more noise, road closures and rubbish caused by Prestwich carnival each year. Do you object to that too?
Oasis in Heaton Park is nothing, there are much bigger and louder music events held throughout the U.K and world in residential areas, anyone would think its going on every night judging by your comments.
I remember the last music event in Heaton park as a kid, with Happy Mondays etc, listening from outside the park, first experience and chance of hearing live music and an inspiration.
I will enjoy my short walk today to see them play, maybe in the sun (can't even predict the weather either Mr Ray let alone the mood of your fellow residens). I hope for more music events on my doorstep in the future!

Heaton Park is in the City of Manchester, the hall and land was sold to the manchester council in 1902. previously it was a privately owned estate and "in" Prestwich. however the Egerton family were richer and more powerful than the whole of Lancashire put together, and were a law to themselves.
Today, the posh people with sad musical taste live in Prestwich. but the park is OURS, and we want Oasis !!!!!!!!
roll with it, or close your curtains ;-)
