AN attacker who grabbed a woman in the street is being hunted by police.
The 57-year-old was making her way home along Byron Road, Houghton Green, Tameside, at midnight on Friday when a man grabbed her from behind and pulled her towards steps leading to a nearby walkway.
After a struggle the woman broke free and run off, but she was left with bruising to her neck, back and side.
Police say they do not know what the man's motive was, but are keen to find him.
It is thought he might have had a small dog with him at the time of the attack. He was white, in his 30s, about 5ft 8ins and of medium build. He had short, cropped hair and was dressed in dark clothing.
Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 9346 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
