I wouldn't walk alone in Tameside and i'm a man - that includes in the day. The politicians and the police have let it become a ghetto of crime, drugs and antisocial behaviour. Rather than voting Labour at the next few elections, as most Tamesiders do out of misguided loyality, try voting for somebody that will clean up it's streets and make it safe again. Let's not forget the real one at fault here is the misfit who tried to attack the lady in the first place, not her for choosing to be out alone at whatever time of the evening it happens to be, or is there some informal curfew operating in Tameside we should be warned about? What a shame the perpetrator can't find something better to do with himself on a Friday night, because in reality if he's caught at all he'll probably produce a couple of 'social reports' or a doctor's statement and just get a slap on the wrist, whilst his intended victim, had she been caught dropping a cigarette butt in the foray, would have probably been marched off to appear at the Magistrates Court and fined £500. Such is life in Tameside under this crackpot Labour council who - as quite rightly noted already in "Of Denton's" comment, seem to lead a very charmed life due to the total apathy and disillusionment of many Tamesiders who choose not to see further than the end of their own backyard.
