THERE are now TWO Faces of Manchester! Judges were unable to pick an outright winner and so decided to make it a double.
Barrister Sophie Robinson and student Zak Lees were both named the joint winner of the M.E.N.'s Face of Manchester 2009.
Sophie, 24, and Zak, 20, beat hundreds of hopefuls from across Greater Manchester.
The judges - including celebrity hair stylist Nicky Clarke, John Lewis regional managing director Maggie Porteous and Nemesis model booker Sam Coulson - were unable to choose one ahead of the other.
Zak - a Vernon Kay lookalike from Failsworth, Oldham- was entered for the competition by his mum Kath.
He said that the victory made up for United's defeat in Rome.
He said: "I'm absolutely ecstatic, this has made up for the football disappointment.
"My mum was crying in the front row." Sophie, from Manchester, said: "This has been my first proper taste of the mayhem of catwalk modelling and it's been amazing."
Hosted by Manchester model Alex Leigh, the catwalk finale at John Lewis in the Trafford Centre saw eleven finalists battling it out.
The two winners landed a model contract with Nemesis, a makeover with Nicky Clarke, a chance to be the face of Manchester-based Duty Free Jeans - and a series of photo shoots in the M.E.N.
