PEOPLE in Greater Manchester will be the first in the country to get identity cards.
The region has been chosen to launch the voluntary scheme and residents will be able to apply for a £30 card from the autumn. The controversial cards are then expected to be introduced nationwide and will be mandatory for foreign nationals.

This also includes those upright persons who love hitting you when you are not upright, or if you are just feeling uptight, or just tight...some time law enforcers, and otherwise out of sight, as naughty as all of us.
The little group of islands off of the great continent of Europe are going to be a 21st century laughing stock, they can't say boo to their leaders, are scared of really getting onto the streets French style...and think that only by mocking all who are not from the little group of islands they can be strong.
Well here's some news, people abroad will be impressed if you stand up to your would be oppressive masters..and tell them that you will carry a card if you feel like it, you will buy one in the first place if you feel like it, but above all you will remove the present pretenders and ensure from the would be next administration, prior to handing them the keys to your islands, WHAT ARE THEIR POLICY'S ON ID CARDS, AND THE CARRYING OF THEM.?..they are going to say...oh well so much public money has been spent on this so far that we would be failing in our duty to the tax payers to cancel it all now....or other such polite rubbish...ah well, it's over to you now...islanders.

What qualifies you to speak on behalf of everyone?
"Be real think why have a ID card a Passport and a driving licence when we could have just one card."
There are plenty of answers to that, but the most obvious one is that you wouldn't be able to use it to replace a passport.
