A CAR ploughed into the side of a house leaving the driver trapped in the vehicle.

The accident happened at 2.36am this morning at the junction of Manor Road and Roundthorn Road in Oldham.

The young man was taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries after being cut free from the wreckage by firefighters.

The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
